Understanding Crisis Therapies: An Integrative Approach to Crisis Intervention and Post Traumatic Stress Review
The information presented in this book was concise and up-to-date, written in APA style format throughout the text. I couldn't help but wonder if it is the end product of a research project from a college student. The material is presented well, with sub-catagories of various methods therapists use to treat clients short term when a crisis affects their emotional health. Each sub-category began with a history of that type of therapy, when it was first used, and how effective it generally is.
The author used an impressive amounts multiple references which are listed in APA format, in the index.
The material presented will be helpful for a student or young professional, but would be difficult for a layperson to follow, which is why I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5. This book would be a wonderful resourse tool for someone who is attempting to develop a large research project in an APA format.
Although I did not purchase the book through Amazon, I did receive my copy through paperbackswap, and plan to make it a permanent part of my library.
