Outlook 2007, both as a separate client, and as a network client, needs to have a guide manual for most users.At some point you WILL need to have either a thorough manual or a very active community forum.If you work in an IT environment as I do, you have an extra benefit of many people using many forums.But, as a one stop shop, the QUE manual series is the most
comprehensive and hence beneficial source of information you can have on any topic, in this case, OUTLOOK 2007. The areas of the Interface ( and Outlook 2007 is essentially an interface to a server, in some cases an ISP, in some cases a Business EXCHANGE server), but however you get the raw info, the Outlook tool manipulates it in many ways, and can be supplemented. It also behaves differently in some cases, for example with Office 2007, the Templates loaded will affect the behaviour of the Outlook client, and so thats when saupplemental information is needed( a forum, or people who might now what is affecting outlook in a different way). Also, to get more out of Outlook, some people use XOBNI as a meta-data sorter ( a sort of Dashboard on a dashboard); I personally think XOBNI is not needed with good Outlook use, since you need much memory, and Outlook 2007 does the extra work anyway. But the Great thing about Outlook is that it really is an Email client which extracts a great deal of data, and also can be used as a first class PIM ( Personal Information Manager) and also a great Calendar and much more. This manual is all about USING Outlook 2007, and it does that in an orderly and logical manner.
Much of what lies outside of the manual is really about a full use of the templates. For example, if the default of the Appointment schedule gives you a screen that you don't want, then so long as the administrator has not locked the templates down, then you just change the calendar appointment, and save it in iCalendar or template mode... works beautifully.

This is a fantastic book! I bought it for a sociology class in college, but it's one of the few I didn't try to sell back. I recommend this for....every member of society because the subject matter of this book is both perpetuated by us and affects us deeply. It was extremely relevant to my sociology course, but more importantly it forced me to take a closer look at something I previously took for granted: the perfect image of a white wedding. After reading this book, I have become much more aware of the oppression, exploitation, and mindless consumption that is involved in the seemingly precious event of a 'classic' white wedding. The origin of life has been debated for as long as our existence. Most literatures treat this as a remote topic and such approach makes it extremely difficult for the layman. I am very glad that the author has chosen to put forward this difficult subject in such approach that, I believe, most of us can readily understand.
In each chapter of Stardust: The Cosmic Seeds of Life, the author starts by drawing our attention to daily life experiences which are related to what comes next, before going into his main topic. It is this approach that makes the book interesting to read.
Then, at the end of each chapter, the author put up a brief summary of the essential points before challenging the reader with several "problems". These problems serve to trigger the reader to think much deeper, rather than simply "swallow" what is taught from the contents. From my feeling, this section makes this books stand out from others, and vividly demonstrates that the author is not just an authoritive expert on this subject, but also an experienced educationist. To quote W.B Yeats "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire". The author will certainly light a fire in many of his readers to pursue this new and exciting subject.

I wanted a book targeted at people who already have intermediate to advanced skills using previous versions of Windows. This is one of three Vista books I've read cover to cover that fit that description. This is the one that skips the most beginning topics and has depth in the most advanced topics. Great coverage of what's going on underneath the GUI where the truly major improvements over XP are. Best coverage I've seen of how the registry works outside of books devoted to the registry. Excellent description of how Vista simulates previous versions of Windows for applications not written for Vista.
