As a fan for 51 years I love this book. The details of what was going on in his life , sometimes monthly, were fascinating to me. Who knows if Jack or his family will ever get around to telling the story, so I'm glad Mr Reinke went ahead and did it.

Many recipes, I enjoy all of the day parts as many good books forget we eat breakfast and lunch at times. Many recipes complex but others simple and full of flavor. No doubt much passion and care from the author in regard to his craft. The forward if people read such things written by another chef is one of the best I have seen and really captures the author and what he is about, well done. Great photos and the chef displays a knack for plating and displaying food he should do a book just on this subject. It is a must book for the culinary libary.

This is a quite useful book for any fundamental-based investor who also wants to have some quantitative discipline.
The book uses Ben Graham's screen described in Intelligent Investor as an example, walks through the steps to select and test factors, build factor models and finally construct portfolio from the model.

What makes the book especially useful is that it does not go into detailed math - there isn't intimidating calculus formula you see in every other quant theory books - but it does cover all important quant topics. It explains concepts in such an intuitive way and the flow is so natural that you'd think "yep this makes sense" or "oh that is a good insight". I've never felt this way reading a quant books.

I finished the book in one day with a rudimentary understanding of what quantitative portfolio management involves, how my fundamental idea may fit in and how to use some of the quant discoveries to refine my idea. It was almost a page turner. Good job.
