The Philosophical Writings of Descartes: 2

Product Description
These two volumes provide a translation of the philosophical works of Descartes, based on the best available Latin and French texts. They are intended to replace the only reasonably comprehensive selection of his works in English, by Haldane and Ross, first published in 1911. All the works included in that edition are translated here, together with a number of additional texts crucial for an understanding of Cartesian philosophy, including important material from Descartes' scientific writings. The result should meet the widespread demand for an accurate and authoritative edition of Descartes' philosophical writings in clear and readable modern English. The Philosophical Writings of Descartes: 2 Review
This volume includes a fantastic translation of Meditations on First Philosophy and includes a section of objections and replies.I ordered this for an upper division philosophy class and found it very useful, however first time philosophy students, or for a "lighter" introduction would probably prefer the Oxford edition. Meditations on First Philosophy: with Selections from the Objections and Replies (Oxford World's Classics)
FYI: This is a very complex text. I'm not sure anyone can read this alone and properly understand the material without a professor guiding them through the text.
