Whether you are interested in the Pseudo-Clementine homilies or not, this work should be read by all who are interested in the history of interpretation of the Bible. His book provides a fascinating look at the approach of interpreting the Pentateuch by one group of early Christians.

I highly recommend any of Carlson's stuff...but this work by far demonstrates his mastery of the original sources of early Christianity.
