So, it's 2013, and my professor recommended this reading for our class. Some of the material in this is a little dated. The majority of the readings were published around 2008-2010, with some works written earlier in 2007, 2004 and even 2002. This can be discouraging when reading is assigned and the reading you're being instructed to read has little relevance to today's circumstances. Also, I didn't care for the US establishment (pro-Zionist) view on the "After Iran Gets The Bomb: Containment And Its Complications" article. That fundamentalist article offered nothing original in its approach or perspectives on Iran and was radical and hypocritical in its prescriptions. I rightly told my professor that that article was "trash." I have learned a lot about the terminology in the International Relations sphere, such as "sticky power" and "smart power." It's a really decent foundational learning tool for learning American/US Foreign Policy (FP). I highly doubt anyone interested in IR (International Relations) or world politics, is going to purchase this in the present day due to its out-dated published articles, but if this has been assigned for you, then it has some really decent articles that mention some of the conflicts in various parts of the globe from the Middle East to Asia to Africa to Latin America to Russia, etc., and specific issues as well from articles dealing with public opinion to international trade to oil to policy making to military power to diplomacy to democratization, etc. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Annual Editions: American Foreign Policy 11/12" are high quality item.
