This is the first of two volumes of landmark essays in New Testament interpretation from one of the most renowned scholars in the field. I am currently working on a PhD in Theology and, as such, have read a great many books on the subject. Helmut Koester is one of the most insightful scholars and best writers in the field. I like this particular book because it is comprised of many previously published articles (which can easily be read over morning coffee) and some longer articles (20-30 pages) that present new material. I hope that Koester will some day publish a more comprehensive book on the Apostle Paul and his ministry, but this is a great one! Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Paul & His World: Interpreting the New Testament in Its Context" are high quality item.
