I purchased a Whitney Guide back in 2007 when our daughter was applying to Kindergarten. I found it to be extremely helpful at a time when I didn't know much about the local private school options. This edition, however, seems like pretty much the same information with little updating. Now that I can read the review of the school that we currently attend, I am disappointed to see that much of the information is out of date and inaccurate, even down to the name of the Head of School, someone who came to the school 7 years ago. And there are several other instances where I found outdated information as well, including a reference to the "new" Getty Center. Unless you know absolutely nothing about your local private schools, I wouldn't recommend buying the latest edition.
