Like others who trained with Adams, this book has many details that none of ever knew and anecdotes that we never would have even guessed to be true. Adams was such a stately figure at the Massachusetts General Hospital that the humbleness of his origins is truly amazing. The story of his interactions with the other Neurology Giants of his era is riveting. Even in his late 80's, it is clear that Adams encyclopedic knowledge of Neurology was not attenuated. It is a wonderful to read about the last man who actually knew and mastered all of Neurology. Laureno is to be lauded for this labor of love and his attention to detail.
