As I finished my seminary education this past year, I became increasingly aware that while much of the theology and Biblical understanding that I have learned is from the West, the Majority World has a greater number of Christians, churches and a growing voice. This is reflected incredibly well in Mark: Texts @ Contexts. At times, the articles made me uncomfortable as they voiced a cultural perspective other than my own, but at the same time, it challenged me to see the Markan text being discussed in a different light. This book is an excellent tool for preaching, teaching, and just Biblical study and discussion. It's important that pastors, teachers, and theologians embrace and make an effort to dialogue with other cultures. Reading this book is a great start on that journey.
